Register as Self Employed

Looking to register as self employed?

It can be daunting moving from employed to self employed but we can support you at every step. When you start working for yourself, and will be earning more than  £1000 before tax relief, you will need to tell HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) that you will now pay your taxes and National Insurance through Self-Assessment. To do this, you will need to register as self-employed and file a tax assessment each year.

You must register as self-employed with HMRC as soon as possible after you start trading, and definitely by the 5th October in your second year of trading (or in other words, being self-employed). We have lots of experience with businesses of all different kinds and can help you complete the process.

You’ll receive your unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) in the post within 10 working days. You will get it sooner in your personal account or HMRC APP.

Once you are registered you will receive notification to complete a Self-Assessment tax return before the deadline.
